Merlot/Merle is a two and a half year old neutered Abyssinian male. He’s a special piggie that needs a special home. He is a moody kind of guy. You can say he wears his emotions on his sleeve. He’s both temperamental and loving at the same time; when he is sweet, we will call him Merlot, when he is grouchy, we call him Merle. He was slow to trust us but has come a long way since coming into rescue. He started out chattering his teeth and sometimes biting out of fear or anger. He now runs up, whistles, and greets us from his pen every time we walk by. He loves being petted and brushed. He coos when we feed him treats and stroke his fur while on our laps. He needs someone who has patience and time to spend with him. He’s worth every bit of it. He needs to go to an experienced guinea pig home.
He has been living with a female who belongs to a foster home; he will need to be adopted out to a home that has an easy going female as he is very dominant.
